We all know the benefits of working out, but keeping to a consistent workout schedule can be extremely daunting task. Wearing gym clothes that will make you want to work out has the potential to give you a boost, especially on those days that you would rather sleep in.
One of the core components of taking care of myself is exercise, so choosing the right work out gear is important. I want leggings and bras that are comfortable enough to lounge in, but functional enough to go hard at the gym. Sacrificing cuteness for functionality and vice versa is not an option for me.
This mama has partnered with Lorna Jane to bring you five tips for choosing gym clothes that will make you want to work out.
High waisted tights are any moms best friend, they are trendy and extremely flattering. The Sculpt Core Ankle Biter Tight from Lorna Jane is a double a threat, not only does it look great but the extra-long waistband helps to keep your tummy tight during exercise. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the flattering mesh panels to help mama bring sexy back! The Peach Runway Sports Bra gives you the ultimate support without feeling too tight and it’s super cute.
Comfort is extremely important for me, the fabric needs to be soft and extra stretchy. Lorna Jane’s fabrics feature a variety of properties you’d want in your workout gear: four-way stretch, shrink and fade resistant, anti-pilling and moisture wicking. In summary, the garments keep you cool whilst working out and they are long-lasting. Music to my ears!
My favorite feature on the leggings is definitely the phone pockets. I don’t know about you, but the last thing I want to worry about is where to put my phone during my sessions. There are two small pockets on both legs, I use the one pocket for my car keys and the second one for my cell phone.
When choosing my athleisure outfits, it’s important for me not to look like I just came straight from a work out class. I want to be able to do school runs and visit the grocery store in my gym wear and still look chic, well at least sporty chic. I think Lorna Jane has nailed it when it comes to versatility.
Choose clothes that make you feel good
Finally, and certainly not least, choose clothes that make you feel good. While fit and function are the most important elements, it is important that you feel good while exercising, otherwise you might be tempted to cut your workout short.
