The influencer industry is currently on the rise in SA, we have grown in leaps and bounds in the past couple of years. But with so many popular accounts, which influencers should you be following?

Whether you’re looking for inspiration or someone to collaborate with, Instagram is the place to go. It was difficult for me to come up with this list because there are so many influencers who are killing the game at the moment! These ladies are consistent, produce high-quality content and provide immense value. Here’s a list of 7 Instagram influencers you should be following.

Food – The Lazy Makoti

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I’m obsessed with The Lazy Makoti. She has a number one selling cookbook, her recipes are easy to follow and she’s super cute. The one thing that stands out about this influencer is her incredible work ethic. For instance, she worked throughout the lockdown period by hosting cooking IG videos with other influencers and celebrities.

Finances – Mapalo Maku

Mapalo is a published author, an award-winning personal finance coach, speaker, City Press Columnist and the founder of Woman and Finance. She uses her Instagram platform to help women gain clarity and confidence around their personal finances.

Relationships – Mpoomy Ledwaba

Mpoomy’s content is centred around relationships, motherhood and entrepreneurship. The one thing that stands out about Mpoomy is the quality of her content. Her images and videos are immaculate, and her husband happens to be her videographer/photographer.

Fitness – Juanita Khumalo

Juanita is relatively new in the fitness scene, but she has managed to grow her online brand rapidly in a short amount of time. Once again, her incredible work ethic has served her well. She’s up every morning at around 6 am to do an IG live workout session for her followers, even during lockdown.

Hair – Sinovuyo  Mondliwa

Sino is the hair care guru of Instagram. She shares hair care tips for natural hair through her Instagram and Youtube accounts, she’s also the owner of a haircare brand called Love Kinks.

Health and Wellness – Phemi Segoe

Phemi is a wellness coach who uses her Instagram account to inspire her audience online while giving practical tools to build better relationships, better habits and better self-image.

Business and Motherhood – Kopano Shimange

Kopano is a personal and online brand coach who uses her content to help women unlock their power and potential so they can overcome their fears and build fulfilling lives. Her consistency and relatability won me over, and I’ve remained a fan for a few years.

Although there are many, these are some of the influencers who stand out on Instagram. Are there any other influencers who should be on this list? Let me know in the comments below.
