Create good quality content
Create good quality content consistently. Think of your Instagram account as your CV. When brands are looking for content creators, the first thing they will look at is your feed. So it needs to be visually appealing.
Not only that but are you publishing content that is valuable for your audience? Is your content elevating your follower’s experience? You need to be intentional about the kind of content that you create. Your audience should either be inspired, educated or entertained. Posting consistently is one way to demonstrate to brands that you’re serious about what you do. Brands want to work with influencers that are committed to their craft. They need to know that you will follow through on a campaign if they decide to collaborate with you.
Optimise your bio
Make it clear that you’re open for business. Before brands look through your feed, they will probably read your bio. Use your bio to introduce yourself to brands and new followers. If you’re a wellness influencer, for example, mention that in your bio. The last thing you want is for brands to be scrolling through your feed, trying to figure out your niche.
Include your contact details
Your email address should be in your bio. If you have a business account, there’s a built-in feature on Instagram that allows users to click on a link that will take them directly to your email. Once a brand has decided that they want to work with you, they shouldn’t have to hunt for your contact details. They simply don’t have the time.
Make your account public
Your account shouldn’t be private. Firstly, if your account is private, brands won’t be able to go through your feed to determine whether they want to work with you. They don’t have time to send through requests and wait for your approval.
Add your location
Include your location in your bio. Some campaigns are area-specific, so you want to make your location clear to brands.
