Date nights are one of the things I miss the most right now. I used to look forward to those Saturday nights away from the kids. Just my hubby and I catching up, while being served a delicious dinner with a glass wine. Oh man, I would do anything to relive those moments!
With everything that’s going on at the moment, it’s critical that we get intentional about staying connected with our other halves. I’ve put together a list of 5 quarantine date night ideas that I love.
It’s time to bring out that picnic basket and mat that’s been collecting dust for the past couple of weeks. Bring out your favourite snacks, drinks and indulge with your favourite person. You can either have your picnic in your backyard, balcony or even indoors.
Cook a meal together
Choose a new recipe and cook together. Even if your partner is not the “cooking type” you can get them to help with the prepping — this needs to be a team effort. Create an ambiance by playing your favourite music in the background.
Okay, I know that a hard core workout is not everyone’s cup of tea, that’s not what I’m talking about here. Do something active that you will both enjoy. You could take a walk or ask your partner to join your yoga session if that’s your vibe.
This is a set of questions that were created to make you fall in love with your partner all over again. According to psychologist Arthur Aaron, asking thirty-six specific questions plus four minutes of sustained eye contact is a recipe for falling in love. We haven’t tried this out yet, but it sounds interesting and I’m into it.
Okay this is not exactly a date but it’s an easy and fuss-free way to stay connected with your partner. The idea here is to check-in with your partner daily, preferably before you both start your day.
