I get asked blogging related questions all the time, but there’s a handful of them that keep coming up.

Consequently, today I’ve carefully selected the 5 most common blogging questions, and I’m going to answer them in this blog post.

Why do I need a blog when I can blog on Instagram

Firstly, you don’t own social media. If you decide to blog on Instagram and it shuts down tomorrow, then you will have to start all over again. All of those followers that you’ve worked so hard to gain will be meaningless.

However, if you have a blog, that means you have complete ownership of your content and audience. You have full control of how you reach, grow, and sell to your audience. If you want to establish a sustainable brand, then you will need a blog. While social media is a great way to reach your audience and drive traffic to your blog, your blog will be the hub of your business.

Is it possible to blog full time

Absolutely yes! If you look at my previous blog post, I wrote about how you can make money as a blogger. The key is to create multiple income streams using your blog as the foundation. But briefly, you can make money through brand sponsorships, advertisements, affiliate marketing, digital products, speaking gigs, and membership sites. The possibilities are infinite!

Do I need to have a big social media following to start a blog

Absolutely not. In fact, I’ll be controversial by saying you don’t have to be on social media if that’s not your vibe. But social media is an excellent marketing funnel to direct traffic to your blog. Not only that, it’s a great way to interact with your audience. But there are other marketing tools that you can use to drive traffic to your site, such as Google ads and Pinterest.

How often should I be uploading new blog posts

According to leading experts, you should be uploading new content at least once a week. Anything less frequent than that is not enough, I’m afraid. The more often you post, the quicker you’ll grow.

How long will it take before I start making money?

That’s the million-dollar question! Well, it all depends on your level of dedication, consistency and, the quality of your work. It took me about six months to land my first paying gig, but I worked my butt off. If you put in the work, you will reap the rewards.

There you have it. Those are the most common blogging questions I receive regularly. I hope I’ve answered some of your burning questions. If not, ask your question in the comments below.
