Some of us are used to working from home, however, there are plenty of mamas who are working remotely for the first time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During this time, it’s essential for us to take care of ourselves so we can remain healthy and productive. These are challenging times, and it’s easy for us to sucked into making poor choices. Don’t fall into that trap. Here are 5 healthy habits for working from home.
Take breaks throughout the day and set defined working hours. I know that it’s tempting to continue working way past your office hours because you are at home anyway, however, you need to allow your body to reset. Just as you would leave the office, you need to know when to stop working.
Stock up on healthy snacks
Now that you’re working from home, I know it’s tempting to raid your fridge or pantry more often than you usually would at work. Consider stocking up your fridge with healthy snacks, to try to avoid unhealthy snacking.
If you’ve been trying to get into the habit of drinking the recommended amount of water daily, there’s no better time to start than now. Fill up a bottle of water every morning and keep it on your desk or workspace. Add lemon or any of your favourite fruits to spice things up a little. Water does wonders for your skin and your overall health.
Designated work area
I know that it’s tempting to work from your bed. However, the support you get from your pillows is not sufficient for your back, it may lead to back and neck pain or poor posture. I always find that I’m more productive when I’m working on a desk and sitting on a comfortable chair.
Give your safe some grace mama, you’re probably not going to be as productive as you would generally be at the office. We’re still in the middle of a pandemic and there’ll be plenty of distractions from our little ones or partners. Go easy on yourself and take it one day at a time.
This blog post would be incomplete if I were to omit this point. Keep that body moving mama! Grab that yoga mat, hit the road or take a walk. Do whatever brings you joy! Exercise does wonders for both your physical and mental health.
Although there are many, these are just 5 healthy habits for working from home that you can adopt. Are there any other healthy habits that you can recommend? Let me know in the comments below.
